I Helped Clients 8x Their Revenue While Living in My Car
I'm not leading with that to be dramatic. I'm leading with it because it's the most clarifying thing I know about why this work exists. And how hard it is to change.
I helped clients grow 3x - 8x. I built operational systems still running a decade later. I watched founders go from frantic to functional, from stretched thin to finally breathing. One of my clients is now a world-renowned full-time artist, doing exactly what they were born to do.
And I couldn't afford rent. I was the last person paid — when I got paid at all. Revenue came in. Expenses went out. I made every decision, worked every hour, held everything together — and had nothing to show for it in my own account.
I wasn't failing because I wasn't talented enough or working hard enough.
I was failing because I was skilled at building businesses for other people and had never learned to believe I was allowed to build one for myself.
That pattern of giving everything, and keeping nothing doesn't just live in your spreadsheet. It lives in your brain. And strategy alone doesn't fix it if you don't address it there too.
The Problem Wasn't What I Was Doing. It Was How My Brain Was Running the Show
I tried the things you’ve probably tried:
Raised my prices ✓
Hired help ✓
Tried to build the systems ✓
Read all the books ✓
Listened to a million podcasts ✓
Watched all the YouTube ✓
Nothing stuck. Not really.
When your brain is stuck in reactivity, it can’t do what business growth requires. You can’t think strategically, you react. You can’t stop obsessively checking in when you try to delegate. You aren’t able to say no to the draining client. You can’t make decisions from vision instead of fear. Those parts of your brain are offline when you’re stuck in survival mode.
This isn't a character flaw. This is how all brains work. Business strategy tends to collapse when you're operating from survival, no matter how good the framework is.
What Actually Worked (And Now Works for My Clients)
In 2019, I got certified as an ICF PCC coach specializing in burnout and brain health. Partly to help clients. Mostly because I desperately needed it myself. It helped — slowly, genuinely, in ways that changed my life.
Then, in 2025, I added Certified Pumpkin Plan Strategist training, and something finally clicked that I'd been circling for years.
The brain health piece and the business piece aren't as separate as most people treat them. A brain under chronic pressure can't implement what a calm brain can design. And better brain health alone won't save a business with no real infrastructure. You need both. At the same time. From someone who actually understands both.
That's what I build now — with every client, from the first call.
I Believe More Good People Need to Be Well-Resourced
Not scraping by. Not running on empty. Not giving everything to everyone else and wondering why the bank account doesn't reflect what they've built.
The founders I'm most drawn to working with aren't just trying to grow a business. They started something because their community needed it. Because they wanted to build something good, something real, something that would still be standing and serving people ten years from now. They care deeply. They show up fully. They are, quietly and consistently, running themselves into the ground.
I know that pattern from the inside. I know what it costs. I know the specific guilt of feeling like slowing down means letting someone down, the specific shame of being skilled and successful and still unable to pay yourself, the specific exhaustion of being the person everyone depends on with no one to depend on yourself.
Mental health requires money. Safety requires money. The ability to make good decisions for yourself, for your team, for your community, requires not being resourced. I've spent my career helping people who are doing genuinely good work get better resourced to keep doing it. That's not a tagline. That's what gets me up in the morning.
Your team deserves a dignified living. You deserve to be paid well for what you've built. The community you're serving deserves a founder who's still standing and still giving a damn in five years.
Your business should support you living your actual life—not consume it.
Because here's the truth: if you can't pay yourself consistently, you're not building a business. You're building a job. And not one you can afford to work forever.
You deserve better than that.
You deserve to pay yourself first. To know what's profitable. To take time off without everything blowing up. To make real choices about your life with the money you earn.
That's what we build together.
We help values-driven, community-focused businesses thrive — without the stress or the burnout. That's the whole thing.
My Non-Negotiables
Every business has rules it runs by. These are mine — in business and in life. They're not a marketing exercise. They're the things I actually won't compromise on, and they shape every client relationship I'm in.
No assholes. Life's too short, and the work is too important. This goes both ways: I won’t be one, and I won’t work with one.
Compassion first. Before anything else, we start with care. For you, for your team, for the people you serve.
Meet people where they are. Not where I think they should be, not where the framework says they ought to be. Where they actually are. That's where real change starts.
When in doubt, dance it out. Seriously. A must. Movement, play, levity aren't distractions from the work. They speed up our learning process and boost productivity, according to the research.
Change is always possible. I've seen it too many times to believe otherwise. The pattern you're in right now is not the pattern you're stuck with forever, if you’re willing to put the work in.
If you’re into these, you're probably the kind of founder I do my best work with.
My Track Record
16 years of small business consulting across coaching practices, bookkeeping firms, consulting agencies, and service businesses of all kinds. I've helped businesses grow 3-10x. I've built systems that still run over a decade later. I've watched founders go from drowning to genuinely free.
ICF PCC-certified coach with 8 years specializing in burnout, brain health, leadership, and ADHD. 1,600+ clients. 5.0 average satisfaction rating. I work with the whole person — not just the business strategy, and not just the emotional experience. Both.
Certified Pumpkin Plan Strategist, Mike Michalowicz's proven methodology for service businesses. The only framework I've found that works the way service businesses actually work.
20+ years of personal brain function and mindfulness practice. Not as a hobby. As the foundation everything else is built on. I’m ADHD, I can’t skip corners here. I've been studying how brains work under pressure for longer than I've been consulting — because my brain required it, and because understanding it changed everything for me.
Lived experience. 16 years of creating results for everyone but myself. I know what it feels like to be skilled, committed, and unable cover necessary expenses. I know what it actually takes to change that — not the inspirational version, the real one. If I built something sustainable starting from where I started, it's possible for you too.
Who I Work With
Values driven, community focused, service business owners making $400K-$2M.
You started this because someone in your community needed it. You care about the people you serve — genuinely, not as a brand position. You're well-connected, trusted, seen as someone who shows up. You probably got into this to make things better for people, not to spend your days managing cash flow chaos and chasing your team for follow-through.
→ Coaches who transform clients but can't afford their own health insurance
→ Bookkeepers managing everyone else's money with no clue what their own business can afford
→ Consultants billing over six figures but stressed about rent
→ Therapists who help others regulate, but feel constantly overwhelmed behind the scenes
→ Contractors and landscapers growing revenue but drowning in chaos
If you care deeply about your work, deliver exceptional results, and still can't seem to keep the money you make—we should talk.
A Few Things You Should Know About Me
I'm multiply neurodivergent. ADHD, trauma, etc. I don't function before 9 am, I work late, and without strong systems I will drop the ball. If I can pay myself consistently, you can too. I've spent years building my life and my business around working with my brain instead of fighting it constantly. Which is a big part of why I'm good at helping other people do the same.
I hyper-fixate on new things constantly. Current rotation: growing food indoors, dancing, learning to play piano, reading 70+ books a year. My cats are unimpressed by all of it.
I used to be a regenerative rancher. I love cows in a way that is unreasonable to most people. I live in a tiny mountain town in Southern Colorado — population about a thousand, which is exactly right for me.
I went to college for dance and social justice. Dropped out because my brain wasn’t functioning. My options as a queer disabled femme narrowed overnight. I figured out within months that I was good at making businesses run.
I love the first time a client pays themselves a real salary. The first real vacation they take without their phone. The moment they let go of the client who's been draining them for years and feel relief instead of guilt. The look on someone's face when they realize their business actually ran while they were gone, and they get to have a life again.
I'm not here to help you hustle harder. I'm here to help you build something that lasts — for you, and for everyone you're building it for.
What You Can Expect
When you work with me, here's what changes:

Months 3-4: We identify your best clients, cut the ones draining you, and sharpen what makes you the only logical choice in your market. Your cash flow starts to stabilize because you're working with the right people.
By Month 6: You have a lean, profitable operation, a team in the right roles, and a consistent Founder Paycheck. Your business runs without you as the single point of failure — and you actually have energy left to enjoy your life.
